Halter Top by Heavenlybabies
This is a halter top that I made for my daughter. It is a free pattern at Garnstudio.  I used a 100% cotton thread (and hook size E) from Mary Maxim that comes in a 1 lb. cone (1200 yds.) for only $15.99. I made a few modifications, making the halter longer than the pattern called for, as well as making a neck strap, instead of the string ties, and also making a triangle insert between the cups. I plan to make the flower edge skirt border as well on a denim skirt for her. To see other WIP pics of this halter, visit my Heavenlybabies Flickr page.
New FO
I have finished the two-tone shrug as part of the Fitted Knits knitalong. I’m pretty happy with it. I’ve been really motivated to blast out the projects this year. It’s felt really good. More details on my blog

Knitted Top by HeavenlyBabies

Â
Hi, I’m Judy from HeavenlyBabies, and this is my first time posting. I wanted to share my latest FO. It is a knitted top with a crocheted motif from the Online #12 Summer ‘06 magazine. I used Plymouth ‘Sunsette’ yarn with a size 8 needles for the body of the top, and DMC embroidery thread (Mouline Special) with a size C crochet hook for the motif. I modified this pattern by adding bowtie stitch rows along the bottom and a crocheted cluster stitch for the edging. I’m pleased with the outcome, because it fits and it’s perfect for our hot Texas summers! For more photos, visit my blog.
Rusted Root FO
I finished my Rusted Root pattern by the Zephyr girls on Sunday afternoon. I really want to make some progress on my latest project - the turtelneck tube vest by Stefanie Japel from the Fitted Knits book, but seem to be moving at a snail’s pace. At least Adrienne has already started on the project and is almost finished. I can always use a Sistah to help another Sistah out. lol. Feel free to check out my Rusted Root on my blog:

Greetings All
This is such a cool site!!!! I found out about it through a friend of mine who has a blog here entitled: Rooted in Knit Reality. I am an advanced crocheter who has now picked up my kitting needles again after many years.
Proof positive…
A dream postponed does not mean it’s a dream denied! I wanted my Sistahfriends to be the first to see my seamed up cardigan! I’m off to the grocery store to get the laundry detergent that the yarn company recommends that you use on the yarn. After all this knitting, I am not going to skimp on the final detail of washing this thing.
I am so happy y’all. I must admit, there is one ‘wayward’ cable, but I didn’t have the heart to fix it and it’s up on the hood anyway, so I figure I’ll call it a design element if anyone asks. The Native Americans purposely put at least one mistake in each of their hand made things to demonstrate that their items are made by man, not by God, so I figure I can roll with the same philosophy.
Anywho, I plan to do a photo shoot this weekend in my new cardi, stay tuned on my blog for more information.
Here are the specifics in the mean time:
STARTED: February 1st 2007
FINISHED: April 9th (well, the knitting, I finished the seaming today, April 12th), 2007
YARN: Mission Falls 1824 Wool, Color #025 (I purchased 17 balls of yarn, but I ended up only needing 15.)
PATTERN: A Cardigan for Arwen from Interweave Knits, their Winter 2006 issue
SIZE: The second smallest size, I believe it’s a 37.5″ bust
NEEDLES: Size 6 & 7 Addi Turbos
PATTERN TWEAKING: I knit two extra short rows on the sleeves portion of the pattern, I otherwise followed it as written.
Anywho, I just wanted to be sure that I was entered for the prize drawings for this knitalong. It was so much fun, y’all. We’ve got to keep the enthusiasm going! I wouldn’t have finished this cardi without my sistahfriends.
Stay Blessed!
Much luv,

Pod Cast
Hey Ladies!!! I was wondering if anyone knew of any really good podcasts. I’ve listened to a few, they were not really my taste…..Love to hear from you…
Spring Cleaning Done
Ok sistahs, I’m finished. Let me know how things look on your end. Our site is best viewed using the FireFox browser. For some reasons things, look crappy in Internet Explorer. I hope you like!
